"Guinevere Marie Christian is a disciple of Jesus Christ and a lifelong daughter of the Catholic Church. A proud native of Lansing, Michigan and alumnus of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio (2008). Her performance career began at the tender age of two, when she began holding court in her grandparents' living room by leading her many aunts and uncles in rounds of 'Itsy, Bitsy Spider' and 'One Little Duck' from the arm of the sofa. Her incredibly supportive extended family nurtured her artistic gifts from that day forward. Over the years, that included everything from hunting for a deal on the perfect piano, hiring her to babysit so she could save up to purchase a guitar, helping to pay for and drive her to piano and voice lessons, coming to dozens of recitals, choir performances, and high school plays. Her grandparents, aunts and uncles always jumped in to help make every whim of opportunity possible for her - like a summer touring with the National Catholic Youth Choir, and another a summer at the Northwestern Summer Music Institute, including making multiple trips to Chicago to see her every performance with some of the most gifted young musicians in the country. Not to mention - her pro musician uncle giving her opportunities to hop in on a gig or two with him for fun (thanks, Uncle Skip!). Though opting to study theology over music in college, Guine couldn't avoid opportunities to sing and promptly joined the music ministry at Steubie U. Over those years, this included singing and playing with ensembles for Compline, Sunday Mass, Special Liturgies like the Easter Vigil, the Festival of Praise team, and heading up the Music Ministry team during her semester in Austria, as well as joining Bob Rice's worship team for the Steubenville Summer Conferences during the summer of 2008. Since graduating from college, Guine has worked in variety of parish ministries, which always included a sprinkling of music. But as the years have passed, music has crowded out other endeavors and Guine finally discerned that now is the right time in life to take the gift that brings her the most life and joy and make it her full-time focus. Guine still lives in Lansing, MI, down the street from the parish 4 generations of her family have made their spiritual home. She and her husband Billy share their little duplex with 2 dogs (Lolek and Mercedes), and 2 kittens (Pier and Assisi). They also share a great love for books and reading, as well as having company over. Guine also loves to travel and aspires to attain status as a domestic goddess."
